Golden Hour Maternity Photography in Maplewood NJ

Selva was expecting a Baby Girl in June and I wanted to take her styled maternity photography session to a beautiful outdoor location. With Spring in full swing, I love to photograph my expecting clients against backdrops filled with blooms and beautiful light. The evening didn’t disappoint and this beautiful mama-to-be was absolutely glowing in the golden hour light.

Selva was pretty comfortable in front of the camera from the get-go, and we moved around the location, changed her into four different gowns, and captured her baby bump in a beautiful way.

As a maternity photographer, I strive to make my clients look and feel beautiful for these very special photos because I know that once Baby arrives, they’ll be revisiting their bump photos out of nostalgia and will be in awe of what their bodies are capable of!

I love dressing my maternity clients into photo-worthy maternity gowns to showcase their baby bumps, and have a selection of several gowns in my client wardrobe. Clients really appreciate having this option for dressing up their bellies, especially given the fact that very few things from their closets fit well at this stage of pregnancy.

Gorgeous Cherry Blossom Maternity Photography in Millburn NJ

Spring was a bit capricious leading up to our maternity photography session with Carol. We got rained out a couple of times but our patience finally paid off, and we caught a beautiful day during the Cherry Blossom season.

Carol was expecting a Baby Girl in May and wanted to have her styled maternity photoshoot outdoors, set against beautiful Spring scenery.

Spring is my absolute favorite season and I’m majorly obsessed with Cherry Blossoms, so this session was not only beautiful but also good for my soul!

Carol’s Baby Girl arrived just in time for Mother’s Day - what a precious gift! Here are some of the images we created for Carol:

Mommy and Me Maternity Session | Lisa and Jasper | NJ Maternity Photographer

Mommy and me sessions are so close to my heart. They make me think of the special tiny moments I share with my own boys and never fail to remind me of the fleeting nature of time [insert sad face].

When a Mommy and Me session is created around a glowing Mama-to-be, it makes it even sweeter. For this session, the dynamic of an expectant mother with her firstborn child, who was about to become a big brother, is so bitter-sweet and beautiful. Only a mother can understand that feeling. Having gone through this experience not too long ago, I still remember the feeling all too well.

Lisa and Jasper were such a fun duo to photograph! Lisa has Broadway performing and touring under her belt and is on maternity leave from teaching dance at a local dance studio. Jasper is a spunky two-and-a-half-year-old who loves trains and enjoys being his Mama’s sidekick.

We met up at Memorial Park in Maplewood, NJ. It was a cloudy morning, which gave us beautiful soft and moody light as we moved around the park to capture some candid moments as well as a few gently posed ones.

Lisa wanted to capture some images of her holding Jasper’s hand while walking side-by-side. It’s such a simple moment but I know that as the new baby arrives and Jasper grows through the years, these images will be cherished and will bring back memories of that moment - a little hand holding on, fitting just right…

We played some silly games and Jasper got to mess up Lisa’s beautifully styled hair and give her super smoochy kisses. His favorite thing was running over the bridge, playing with the trains I brought along and observing the ducks in the river.

Last-Minute Cherry Blossom Maternity Photography Session

Outdoor maternity sessions in Spring always have such a magical feel to them. Cherry Blossom sessions are my absolute favorite! With new life unfolding all around us, they providing such a beautiful backdrop and metaphor for the new little person arriving into the world.

Photographing this gorgeous mama-to-be was a beautiful last-minute treat. The cherry trees were just barely starting to bloom and I had a vision of doing this session about a week later but there was no time to wait since Baby Girl was scheduled to arrive just TWO days after our session! Vera looked so radiant and was super excited to meet her baby. So much so that she couldn't stop smiling throughout our whole session! 

Congratulations to this beautiful mama and the whole family! Baby Girl arrived two days later, healthy and sweet as can be!
